Toulouse: Ecole Bettini, a destiny linked to the Capitol
Two former dancers of the Capitol Ballet have taken over the reins of the dance school founded by Françoise Bettini 9 bis rue de la Colombette. Story.
Emmanuelle Broncin and Minh Pham, high-level dancers from the Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse, have taken over the helm of the Bettini dance school, rue de la Colombette, an institution in the city. Indeed, for more than forty years, this hall to see thousands of ballerinas pass, has sometimes become famous such as Laëtitia Pujol, today dancer star of the Paris Opera ballet. “For thirty years, this place, then founded by a former ballet master from the Capitol, was managed by my mother, Françoise Bettini, a former dancer from the Capitol, relates her son, Romain Marzullo, a little moved. At the time, this osmosis with the Capitol already existed ”.

For decades, arabesques, entrechats and pirouettes will run along the bars to find themselves in the mirrors. “It was the time of happiness,” Romain remembers. But in March 2020, my mother fell seriously ill before leaving at the end of 2020 ”. Obviously, requests for cover versions from the Ballet Studio follow one another, “several professionals have asked me,” explains Romain. I could not follow up ”. Then one day, he receives an email from Emmanuelle Broncin and Minh Pham. These two dancers who no longer count their pointes in large international companies, have also been ballet masters at the Capitol. And the Ballet Studio interests them. “My mother noticed their work,” Romain remembers. She was in tune with their vision of dance. I am only waiting for his choice to be approved ”. Since the start of the school year, the Ballet Studio has therefore been renamed Salle Bettini in homage to Françoise: “For us, it is an immense emotion and a great honor to teach here. Françoise’s lucky star protects us, ”affirm Emmanuelle Broncin and Minh Pham.
