First of all, Hortense * (94 years old), a resident ofHérouville Saint-Clair, near Caen (Calvados), thinks he has misplaced his bank card. But when she receives her statements with withdrawals and payments of up to 1,000 euros, she immediately suspects her grandson Adrien *.
It’s been one that she is hosting him because he has serious financial problems due to his addictions, cannabis and gambling. As he sometimes takes his lessons, he knows his code …
She doesn’t ask him to pay her back
Tuesday, October 19, 2021, Adrien (32 years old) appeared before the criminal court to answer for recurrent theft and fraud. The facts turned out to be spread from November 2020 to February 2021.
The indelicate grandson recognizes the facts which he encountered especially on the account of his “irrepressible need” to play games of chance. “I only have her as a parent, I regret having embarrassed him,” he confided to the magistrates.
Hortense does not constitute a civil party, does not ask for any moral damage, not even reimbursement. What she wants is for Adrien to leave his home.
Eight months suspended prison sentence
The prosecutor recalls that, out of the five mentions in his record, apart from a conviction for drug trafficking, there are three for theft. He requires a three-month prison sentence, leaving to the court the decision of a possible revocation of suspended sentence.
In the end, Adrien was sentenced to 8 months in prison with a probationary suspension of 24 months. He will have to work and cure his addictions.
