Concerts, theater, humor … The Grimaldi Forum in Monaco is strong with its new program

Sugar Mizzy October 19, 2021

THEa long-awaited recovery, the real one, with a full calendar and the combination of dense activities in terms of business tourism and culture is confirmed, and we are very happy! Today we are presenting a varied and high-quality 2021-2022 cultural season which is addressed, as always at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, to all audiences ”, warns Sylvie Biancheri, director of the Grimaldi Forum.

A calendar in the form of revenge for the congress center which, like so many other spaces, has heard the silence echoing for so long in its 35,000m2 of rooms and corridors.

So this time, they’ve been sent heavy. And it starts this week on the concert side, with Lang Lang, the Chinese pianist, world star of classical music, who will come to interpret the Goldberg variants, by Johann Sebastian Bach. The following is a long list of stars of the song: Benjamin Biolay on December 4, Carla Bruni on January 7, Christophe Maé on May 7, Francis Cabrel on July 6, and the immense Iggy Pop, whose concert has been several times postponed, which will finally ignite the Grimaldi Forum on May 19. Thursday Live Sessions, these concerts after work free (only drinks are paid), in a more intimate format, also resume. The programming is always intentionally very eclectic: O’sisters, Joao Selva, Nina Attal or Yarol Poupaud, there is something for everyone.

Music calls for dance, and like every year, the Ballets de Monte Carlo will be there, with, among others, the Monaco Danse Forum, and their end-of-year show. This time, Jean-Christophe Maillot has chosen to give his interpretation of a Tchaikovsky classic with Nutcracker Company.

Have to laugh!

There is not only music in the life of a space like the Grimaldi Forum: “After all this rather heavy period, the public also needs to laugh and it will be combined: we welcome the Princess Grace Theater outside the walls this evening, with Isabelle Mergault and Chantal Ladesou, then, in March, Josiane Balasko. We are delighted with these co-productions with the Princess Grace Theater which finds, in the Prince Pierre Hall, a perfect setting and the possibility of satisfying a large audience “, adds Sylvie Biancheri.

Always on the humor side, from November 10 to 13, the Serenissims of humor will take place, with Élie Semoun, Hassan of Monaco, the Count of Bouderbala, and Patrick Bosso. Ary Abittan will come in December, for his new one man show.

It is therefore a busy season that promises to be in Monaco, and the director does not hide her joy: “Twenty-one appointments are already scheduled, not to mention surprises to be expected along the way with the announcement of a few additional shows or concerts … It is the great return of the live performance to the delight of the public and that professionals from the events sector! “
