“Competition makes me better”
Stefan Alexander Ljubicic joined the football team KR from HK today. Stefan is a 22-year-old striker who scored six goals in the Pepsi Max league last summer.
“The feeling is very good. KR is one of the biggest teams in the country and I am very happy to have finished this.”
As mentioned before, Stefán joins KR from HK. HK fell out of the league and will play in the second highest league next year. Stefán says that it was a good idea to stay in HK.
“It was considered. I had a year left on my contract, but when KR heard me, I started thinking about it. They managed to convince me and Viktor [Bjarki Arnarsson] is naturally also in KR, I’ve had the last two years with him, which helps a lot.”
“There were several teams that wanted me, but nothing like KR. They were really the only team that really wanted me. I just wanted to go to a team that wanted me 100% so I was very happy that it was done.”
Both Stefan and Sigurður Bjartur Hallsson, who also joined KR today, are strikers. For KR, Kristján Flóki Finnbogason and Kjartan Henry Finnbogason are among others. There is therefore enormous competition for the positions in the team.
“Competition only makes players better, we want it.” This is the club that wants to win and only the best men play. I like the competition, it makes me better and makes me work harder and train harder.”
KR will enter the European competition next year after the Icelandic champions Víkings also became cup champions.
“I watched the Vikings game and was very nervous. But the European competition is a huge bonus and one of the reasons why I wanted KR.”
