What to do with the family for the All Saints’ Day holidays in Nord – Pas-de-Calais?

From Friday 22 to Sunday 7 November 2021, these are the vacation of the Toussaint ! To make the most of this break for the little ones with family, here are some ideas of things to do, in the North and the Pas de Calais.
In the Pas-de-Calais
From Friday October 22 to Monday November 1, the “Gentle monsters” comes to the Louvre-Lens. Visits, workshops, conference-comics, immersive show and cinema… Come with your family to discover these extraordinary beings! An opportunity to discover the current exhibition “Les Louvre de Picasso”, open until early next year.
In addition to other animations, creative workshops are organized during these holidays at the Museum of Fine Arts in Calais, around the current exhibition “Free Figurations – 1980s”. Find:
- Monster 3D ”, from October 26 to 29: children are invited to draw what is most marked in the works of the Di Rosa brothers in the exhibition. Thanks to these preparatory drawings, they will imagine little monsters to be sculpted before staging them in a setting;
- “Hello my name is…”, from November 2 to 5: a scouting of the works of the graffiti space after the exhibition, the children will succeed in beautiful letters, in graffiti style, like the artist Crash and will each find themselves “a blaze ”(nickname), plus other surprises.
If you have the courage to face the cold, you can try one of the rides offered on the back of giants, in Calais. The Dragon, which takes you to the seafront, and its counterpart the Iguana, make the visit to you in a fun way.
On the occasion of the 23rd edition of “Child’s play monument”, the National Monuments Center invites children and parents to host monuments with their families during a weekend of fun and educational activities. On October 23 and 24, young and old alike are expected in 52 monuments of the Center des monuments nationaux throughout France. In the Pas-de-Calais, it is the Colonne de Wimille that takes part: the place invites visitors to find themselves with the Napoleonic universe.
For these holidays, a special program for young audiences is announced by the Béthune-Bruay tourist office, with:
- UN investigation game “The quest for the dragon” (from 7 years old) in Béthune during the holidays;
- a workshop visit “Make your slippers” (6-12 years old) in Lillers on October 27;
- a stroller ride “In my neighborhood” at the City of Electricians, on October 27 and November 3;
- a visit-snack “Apprentice galibot” (from 6 years old) in Bruay-la-Buissière on October 28 and November 4.
Other highlights for the whole family (visit to the Belfry of Béthune, bike ride, etc.) are announced.
In the north
It’s party time, at Kinepolis in Lomme, during the holidays! The cinema of course offers movies to watch as a family, but also: a coloring and painting activity, role-playing games and even the baking of a cake! During these holidays, there will be on the bill: The Wolf and the Lion, The Adams Family 2: A Ride from Hell, Sam the Firefighter and the Mysterious Superhero (from October 13), Oops, I missed the ark again, Ron unlocks (released on October 20) and the continuation of the adventures of Petit Nicolas, Little Nicolas’s Treasure (from October 27).
On October 31, a special Halloween screening for children is on the program with the Japanese animated film Baby doll. For those over 16, a special evening is also planned.
In Fourmies, the Avesnois Ecomuseum welcomes an exhibition on glass, “The reverse side of the glass”. Through thematic routes (4 different ones are available), learn more about glass: its history, its uses through the ages, its various forms… An exhibition accessible to all!
Fancy some adventure? Why not try the experience of scooter… in the middle of the forest! Trott’Aventure remains open in Phalempin, during these holidays. On three slots per day (10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.), every day, you can take control of the electric and all-terrain scooter, at the bend of a route accompanied by 1:30 or 2 hours, in the middle of the forest! All adapted according to the sensations sought. Not far from there, the tree climbing park Chlorofil (open until the end of October) also offers a variety of routes.
On Saturday 23 October, the holidays start strong, with a family night game (accessible from 6 years old), offered at the Lewarde Historical Mining Center. In 2020, a body was found at the No. 2 pit of the Delloye pit, behind a sealed hatch. Solve the mysteries associated with this find.
At the Fort des Dunes in Leffrincoucke, a family workshop entitled “Little schoolboy” makes its appearance during the holidays: October 27 and November 3. Addressed to 8-10 year-olds, it aims to help them discover school as it was during World War II, and in particular how to write with a pen!
This is enough to keep your little family busy during these holidays!
