Two gun attacks in the city of Salzburg

On Sunday late evening and Monday morning there were two attacks with guns at gunpoint in the city of Salzburg: in Stölzlpark in Salzburg-Maxglan and in Neutorstraße in Salzburg-Riedenburg. In the Maxglaner case, three suspects were invented.
Shortly after 9 p.m., a 57-year-old Dutch man was attacked by three initially unknown people in the Stölzlpark in the Maxglan district. At gunpoint, they forced their victim to hand over their wallet and smartphone. After the attack, they ran away.
After a large-scale manhunt with helicopter support, the three alleged robbers were quickly caught: The three suspects are 19 and 20-year-olds – two Austrians and one stateless person. The officers also found the loot in the Glan – near the crime scene. The only thing missing so far is the firearm. The men were arrested. The prosecution also ordered a house search of the main suspect.
Assault in the Riedenburg: 20 euros loot
On Monday, early in the morning, there was an attack on Neutorstrasse in the Riedenburg district – near the Spar supermarket: two unknown perpetrators threatened a 23-year-old local with a gun and a knife and stole his wallet with 20 euros Cash off.
The two perpetrators then fled. According to the victim, they were about 1.95 meters tall and completely dressed in dark with their faces covered in black. The manhunt for the two is ongoing.
SPÖ calls for better lighting
After the attack in the Stölzlpark, however, the Salzburg SPÖ club chairman Andrea Brandner demanded that the lighting in the park be improved and a safety inspection carried out: “The Stölzlpark is very dark. You don’t feel well because it is poorly lit and therefore difficult to see. The first step is to improve the lighting in the park. “
