Toulouse: Place du Capitole has gone green
Bright weather and professional know-how made yesterday’s first free edition of “Capitole Végétal” a real success.

Greening Toulouse has been the City’s challenge for the past few years. With this in mind, the very successful first edition of “Capitole Végétal” took place yesterday at Place du Capitole. A day during which several professionals offered advice, artistic demonstrations and flower sales: which species are best suited to the Toulouse climate? Comment the cultivator? How to maintain and protect them? “The people of Toulouse have a real demand for plants”, note Benoît and Cyril, florists solicited for the event by the Federation of florists. A day of competition also with the recognition of several plants (olive tree, oak, jasmine, chestnut, etc.), installed on the square. A competition initiated by the Training Center for apprentices of the CFA d’Auzeville and the Federation of Nurseries, “a competition designed to raise public awareness of plants, remarks Eric Caussat, manager of Pépinièristes Caussat. It has more than 80 participants. “. The winners including Angélique Malzac are distributed among several cork oak, holm oak and maple shrubs. Childhood. Because it is not so easy to start from a leaf to recognize a family of plants”.
This day was also a florist, the talent of several young people from Occitanie, including Avril Aillot, a young florist honored with the diploma of the City of Toulouse. This young woman will represent Occitania in the national competition in 2022. “A pride for the profession” assured by Claudine Pinel, president of the union chamber of florists of Midi-Pyrénées.
