Interference, that’s the name of this news concert hall (but not only!) which promises to “move the lines of events” to Toulouse, from 2022.
5 minutes walk from the metro exit
The work started before the summer and will be completed early next year. Located on the road from Lavaur to Balma, opposite Auchan, instead of a former warehouse of La Banque Populaire, which was razed to be rebuilt, Interference will be accessible by car (and will have a small parking lot), but also and especially by subway. This room will indeed be located close to Balma-Gramont station, from which we can reach her by 5 minutes by foot.
Concert hall, rooftop and meeting spaces
On six spaces, Interference promises to offer “a playground of over 2,500 m² for tailor-made and daring events”.
The showcase of the project will be 700 m concert hall2. Equipped with a modular stage, it will be able to accommodate “up to 2,000 people in classical concert format, and up to 2,500 in concert-club format”. It will be a mezzanine of 100 m2, with a view of the stage.
In addition to this concert hall, Interference will have a “vast 500 m roof2 overlooking a park ”, for the organizer of afterworks, private parties, but also“ more intimate concerts ”.
The complex will also offer meeting spaces, to rent for seminars, conferences, galas, and other cocktails. He will be able to provide a film studio, with all the necessary technical equipment.
Position yourself between the Bikini and the Zenith
With its 2,500 pitches, the Interference concert hall will be the third hall in the city, behind Le Zénith (11,000 seats), and the Tournefeuille Lighthouse (3,500 seats). It will be larger than other institutions in the Pink City, such as the Bikini, or even, in another register, the Halle aux Grains. To enrich the cultural offer in Toulouse, Interference does not hide its desire to position itself “Between the Bikini and the Zenith”.
“Our intermediate capacity will allow us to position ourselves between these two beautiful Toulouse venues that are the Bikini, which is known internationally, but is in great demand by producers; and the Zenith, which is a prestigious venue, but is much more difficult. to make profitable “.
Launched in 2017, the project was the subject of a fundraising of 3 million euros in 2019, before being delayed by the pandemic. Headed by five partners, it must now open its doors in March 2022. About ten employees have already been hired.
Designed to avoid queues
The establishment will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, to “break the codes” and establish itself as “a real laboratory at the height of today’s events”. To buy tickets independently ”, he will thus have connected terminals at the entrance (a bit like the ordering kiosks of fast-food restaurants, editor’s note), but also “Robotic locker rooms”, and a automated beverage service ‘ for beer.
“Everything has been thought of to relieve the queues at the ticket office, the cloakroom and the bar. We have made it as fluid as possible, so that people can make the most of their event. Such equipment may exist at certain festivals, but at our knowledge is a first in the French ecosystem of theaters and concerts “.
Other services less popular with consumers will be provided by staff, such as the cocktail bar, which offers “more sophisticated drinks”. Two catering services will also be deployed on site.
Rap, but not only
On the programming side, Interference will give pride of place to an “electro trend”, but “will not be locked into one and the same musical universe”. Its designers intend to put on display concert divers and varied “for all audiences” (variety, electro, rap, metal …), but also other events, such as comedy shows.
Marc Rebillet (and his bathrobes) for a first concert
In order to mark its arrival on the front of the stage, Interference has already programmed “an exceptional headliner” for its opening: the Franco-American showman Marc Rebillet, which is a huge success on the web with its quirky shows.
Known for his performance of electronic music, he has millions of subscribers on social networks. He made a name for himself by improvising songs live on Youtube and Twitch. Extremely popular videos, where this iconoclastic artist generally uses a station loop, a keyboard, vocals and percussions, can be found from his apartment… in bathrobes, each more extravagant than the next!
For his tour in France, Marc Rebillet has planned five dates. And therefore set his sights on Interference for his first performance in Toulouse. This serum Wednesday 2 March 2022. The places are on sale (33 euros) online here … and “go like hot cakes!” “
