The two concerts by Canadian musician O Weeknd in Portugal, scheduled for October 2022, were cancelled, the promoter Tudo é Novo revealed this Monday.
Abel Tesfaye’s project would perform on the 25th and 26th of October 2022, at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon, and the two dates were practically sold out for several months.
The dates in Portugal would be part of the new world tour to present the album after hours, but the musician decided to reformulate the show and readjust the walk, which he only chose in the summer of 2022, affecting his passage through Portuguese stages.
In a message on the Facebook social network, a promoter explains that “all ticket buyers connected will be refunded automatically ”from Wednesday, 20th October 2021,“ within a maximum period of 30 days ”.
“For those who purchased tickets in physical stores, they can request a refund within a maximum period of 60 working days, from the 20th of October 2021 to the 14th of January 2022, without an original point of sale, upon presentation of the ticket and proof of purchase”, explains the promoter.
on one advertisement on social media, The Weeknd announced that it would change the start of the new tour to the summer of 2022 and that it plans to redesign the show itself.
“Limit to venue restrictions and requests for more concerts, I want to do something bigger and special that requires stadiums,” said the musician in the ad, alluding to room capacity and limitations due to the covid-19 pandemic. New dates will be announced, informed Abel Tesfaye.
