The Netherlands must invest in a better business climate
More needs to be developed in a better business climate to attract talent to the Netherlands. This is written by 120 organizations in a letter to the forming parties. The organisations, consisting of companies, seniors, professors and schools, are afraid that foreign talent will no longer choose the Netherlands.
The chairman of the board of Utrecht University and signatory of the manifesto, Anton Pijpers, is clear about this in WNL Haagse Lobby on NPO Radio 1: ”We need talent for the future and to do that we need a good infrastructure and enough homes. ” Overijssel deputy Eddy Hijum (CDA) adds: ”Much more needs to be looked at at the regions as such. You have to specify what the needs are for each area, only then can you capitalize on a better climate.”
The coalition behind the letter hopes that politicians will lend a listening ear: “Such investments take time, so more must be done now, not in a few years. Then you are simply too late”, says Pijpers.
