Tamponi, Vecchioni (Verona): “We are at over 4000 a day, but without crowds”
Rome, 18 October – Even in Verona, the entry into force of the mandatory green pass has produced an increase in the demand for rapid tampons from apparently the citizenry. This is confirmed by a note from the provincial union of owners. explaining from the beginning of October the daily average of tampons in the pharmacies of the province that already ensures the service had stood at about 4,000. The increase in demand, in recent days, has produced a “blockage” of the telephone lines of pharmaceutical businesses, practically monopolized by citizens who need information and want to book tampons.
“In September we performed over 104,000 swabs and gradually arriving in early October we witnessed an increase in demand up to 4,000 tests in the daily 173 Veronese pharmacies providing the service and which are increasing ” to assert Elena Vecchioni president of Federfarma Verona (in the picture). “Even if there are no official data yet, in these days an increase is managed by a well-known international protocol also thanks to the organization of pharmacies and health care that avoids the creation of asembramenti”.
The obvious difference compared to the first week of October, explains Vecchioni, is the increase in citizens who have ascertained the tests urgently, that is, during the week of October, in order to access the workplace. Pharmacies and pharmacists do everything to best respond to requests: “Our availability is there for all to see if since the beginning of the year we have carried out 345,000 swabs in the province of Verona alone” affirmed in this regard the president of the Scala owners, perfectly aware that “The numbers are destined to rise”. Precisely for this reason, Vecchioni asks citizens for a hand, who – to obtain the service – are asked to respect the scheduled appointment or, in case of cancellation, timely communication to the pharmacy, so as to allow another citizen to make the test in the vacated place.
Vecchioni is also aimed at citizens who contact the pharmacy by telephone for any other need not related to tests. asking them “To have a little patience: if you wait a few minutes before we can give them an answer, it is because we are working at full speed in this moment of particular emergency”. The president of the Veronese titles reminds us in this regard that “even in these challenging moments, pharmacists must have the time available to satisfy the classic requests of users and therefore offer advice to our patients for any health and pharmacological need“.
Vecchioni’s reference is, in particular, “To chronic patients, the elderly, mothers, but not only, to small-large needs on which we are questioned daily by the community that sees the pharmacy as a safe and always available point of reference“.
