Same wolves vs. Löwen Frankfurt 2: 5
Class beats passion
Our decimated wolf pack – Ondruschka, Gare, Ross, Hammerbauer, Kryvorutskyy and Naumann were missing injured or inclined – pulled out of the affair respectably against the front runner Löwen Frankfurt. Some goals conceded fields again due to individual errors. But what one can chalk up our pack in any case is a lack of will, struggle and passion. So despite the playful superiority of the Hessians, you were actually never out of the game and a surprise for a long time within the scope of the possible.
Press lion
The first minutes of the game belonged to our wolves again, Thompson had the best chance, but this time our boys couldn’t capitalize on it. The league leader from Hessen does better. The first mistake our boys made – once again we couldn’t get the disc out of the defensive zone – Strodel used it in the 3rd minute to make it 0: 1. An outnumber opportunity for us didn’t bring anything countable either. The Frankfurt penalty killing is too effective and uncompromising. When this was allowed to act with a man more on the ice in the 15th minute, Schwartz faked a flick into the gable to 0: 2 for Weidekamp. But our wolves did not give up and showed that we too can take advantage of the opponent’s mistakes. Miglio stole the puck from a defender in front of the Frankfurter Tor, this comes via Boiarchinov to Thompson, of the ice cold to a connecting goal.
Wolves with a lot of passion
In the second third our wolves were able to counter the overpowering guests even better. The lions could no longer settle in front of our gate and our wolves managed to fire on the guest keeper Hildebrand’s house again and again. In the 30th minute, however, it was the Hessians who again outnumbered the 2: 3. Our cracks then put a lot of pressure on and were able to get stuck in front of Hildebrand, but unfortunately only hit the post. Shortly before the end of the third, Aquin was unlucky again: Hildebrand could not hold his hard shot, but the target spun just past the goal.
Balanced final section
Should our wolves get here again? Chances and will were there, but already in the 44th minute the Lions made it 1: 4 with a forceful shot from the slot. But our wolves did not give up for a long time. Already in the 45th minute Miglio used with a cracker just above the housing A scent mark in the self-attack zone. And in the 48th minute it was Thompson again, who could cheer the self-appendix and restore the old distance. He took a wonderful pass from Boiarchinov and gave Hildebrand no chance with his tough and well-placed finish.
Seven minutes before the end, a Frankfurt defender could only help himself with a stick throw against a self-attacker who had broken through, but the referee team did not want to have seen a rule violation here. Shortly after this scene, our wolves left the Frankfurt Sykora too much space and he used it to get the final score of 2: 5.
