Ranking. Toulouse in the world’s top 50 cities of tomorrow according to a study

Wednesday October 13, 2021, easyPark – international specialist in parking technologies – a publication a study on the ranking of the smartest and most forward-looking cities in the world. The study thus reveals “which cities more naturally adopt new technological solutions for improve their durability and quality of life“.
What is a city of the future?
To establish this ranking, several parameters were scrutinized: digital elements, innovation in terms of mobility, the technological ecosystem for companies and the ecological footprint. Researchers in this study collected data from sources such as the World Bank, The Economist, the International Monetary Fund and The Lancet.
In the segment cities of 600,000 to 3 million inhabitants (which includes the metropolis of Toulouse), it is Copenhagen (Denmark) which comes in first position and which therefore appears as a city of the future in the eyes of this study. Stockholm (Sweden) and Oslo (Norway) complete the podium. Then follow Amsterdam (Netherlands), Zurich (Switzerland), Göteborg (Sweden), Helsinki (Finland), Boston (United States), Utrecht (Netherlands) and Edinburgh (Scotland).
Toulouse 47th
What about the Pink City? The metropolis of Toulouse ranks in 47th out of 50 cities with a population from 600,000 to 3 million inhabitants (after studying data from several thousand cities).
The Pink City is not the only metropolis in France represented in this ranking. The first French city in this ranking is also located in Occitanie. It is Montpellier (42nd). Lyonnais is 45th while Bordeaux is in 48th position… just behind Toulouse.
