A new sports and leisure facility is now causing trouble in the center of Oberndorf (Flachgau). Neighboring residents complain about massive noise until late at night.
Christian Hochmuth lives with his partner right across from the new facility at the Oberndorf school center, which opened in May, and is angry, as he said on the ORF program “Bürgeranwalt”: “We tried to talk to the community – immediately after the site went into operation has been taken. The church has not the slightest interest in taking care of the matter and finding a solution. The opening times that are outside – it took us two months of correspondence to get something there. “
Use only allowed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
According to an ordinance of the municipality of Oberndorf, the square may only be used between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the evening. But nobody cares whether this is adhered to, criticizes resident Hochmuth.
Oberndorfer’s mayor Georg Djundja (SPÖ) counters: “After the first complaints from neighbors, I had discussions with children and young people there myself. The youth center is also right next to us – and street work too, so that we can educate people here. At the same time, we have also engaged the Austrian security service to go on patrols here after 8:00 p.m. and see whether the times are being adhered to. “
Noise pollution from sports facilities
Since May 2021 there has been a new multifunctional sports facility in the municipality of Oberndorf near Salzburg. The immediate neighbors feel abandoned by the community. Because the unacceptable noise until late at night would simply be accepted. If neighbors bit nocturnal sports facility users for rest, they would be threatened with domestic attacks. He faces criticism from the mayor of Oberndorf.
The residents emphasize that they have nothing against the sports field. But they would like the new hard court to give way to a football field again.
