On January 22, 2022, Limburg’s biggest girls-only party from above the rivers will take place: ‘Amsterdam Ladies Seat’.
During this 2nd edition, the organization raises money for breast cancer research. Since October is ‘breast cancer awareness month’, the Amsterdam Women’s Seat will donate €1 per ticket sold to the Limburg breast cancer research fund in October.
Carnival in the capital of the Netherlands
Ladies Seat Amsterdam is the sister of the even successful Heren Seat Amsterdam. Both are celebrations with well-known Limburg artists performing in the capital for a large audience consisting of Randstad residents with Limburg roots, Limburgers, Amsterdammers and those from carnival. What started as a joke got bigger. The 5th edition for the men and the 2nd edition for the ladies is now approaching. Both take place on the same day in De Melkweg Amsterdam with a total of more than 1500 visitors.
The organization of the Amsterdam Ladies session light toe: “Vastelaovend is in the DNA of Limburgers. Most Limburgers who live in the Randstad go back to the South for three days in Vastelaovend. During the run-up to those days, there is something to do in Limburg every weekend. In the Randstad, however, there is a lack of these preparatory activities; as an amuse-bouche for that wonderful ‘vastlaovend feeling’. Our parties offer a solution. Visitors are therefore very enthusiastic. After four outside men’s sessions, we organize a women’s session for the second time, in addition to a fifth men’s session. Even an XL variant in De Melkweg!”.
Cancer research fund donation
Every year, the lives of more than 17,000 Dutch women – and their environment – change because of the diagnosis of breast cancer. Because of the treatments that are undergone, but also because of the confrontation that the disease entails. Breast cancer is a disease with many, often unfamiliar faces, undergoing changes. The Amsterdam Women’s Session has decided to contribute by making a donation to research into this disease and donates €1 of all tickets sold during the month of October to the Limburg cancer research fund.
The organization: “Donating to a good cause and regular donations go hand in hand. That’s why we looked for an appropriate way to contribute during our annual annual events. We expect to welcome more than 1000 partying (Limburg) ladies this year. If you then get breast cancer, that’s quite a lot. We hope this action contributes to research so that we can eradicate this disease.”
