Letter to the Editor – Demos on Monday
Every week on Monday evening, anti-corona rallies (“demos”) take place on the square in front of the government building in Vaduz. Sensible and very important. Because: Do we just want to watch in silence as we are being deprived of our freedoms step by step ?! Or do we set an example in which we express our displeasure and stand up for our basic rights? When injustice BECOMES right, (peaceful) resistance BECOMES a duty! “Those who remain silent seem to agree,” is the saying. Time to work for good – while you still can! Time to get involved for our fatherland, for family and individual rights!
As then, there are still personalities today who stand up for the freedoms of individual citizens. About seven years ago, presenter Peter Kölbel interviewed Liechtenstein’s well-known and renowned historian Dr. Rupert Quaderer (1fl. Left, November 4, 2014). Subject: «Liechtenstein from 1014 to 1926». In this context it is about Kölbel, what can be learned from history. Dr. Quaderer’s answer: “For example, I think it has been shown that you have to fight for your rights. That was definitely the case back then. The key personalities seized the opportunity to make a difference in these troubled times – and fought for it! A right is hardly given to you, you have to get this right. That is certainly a lesson that can be drawn from it. ” –
The above words of the historian Dr. Ashlar to heart. In this sense: Dear Liechtenstein citizens and all people in whom freedom is important: Let us be aware: We have to fight for our rights and freedoms! Peaceful. After all, it affects each of us!
