FC Bayern Munich – Joshua Kimmich on non-nomination for Ballon d’Or: “I’m not the blatant single player”
Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich is missing from the list of the 30 best players of the year. He himself can understand the decision.
Joshua Kimmich is not annoyed about his failure to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or. “I’m not surprised, I’m not that great individual player,” he said after his strong performance in Bayern Munich’s 5-1 win at Bayer 04 Leverkusen Sport1.
In addition, Kimmich admitted that he “had not seen the shortlist”. From FC Bayern, only Robert Lewandowski is mentioned among the 30 nominees, the only other Bundesliga player is Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
Kimmich: “Don’t worry about a shortlist”
“For me it is important that the team wins. I can only shine myself if we win,” said the 26-year-old midfielder Kimmich. “You’re always dependent on the team. I’m happy about a game like today and don’t worry about a shortlist.”
