Bogdan Aurescu asks for help for the Republic of Moldova, in the gas crisis: “It is a critical moment for the Government in Chisinau”
The interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, announced on Monday that he will inform the heads of European diplomas, meeting in Luxembourg, about the food crisis with natural gas in the Republic of Moldova and will ask him to help Chisinau to overcome this situation.
“I will inform my colleagues about the crisis in the Republic of Moldova regarding the supply of natural gas. It is a critical moment for the Chisinau Government. This is due to changes made by Russia in terms of supply conditions and natural gas costs. Thus, you will ask my colleagues and European institutions to support, with experience and financial help, the resolution of this crisis, because overcoming the crisis will allow the Chisinau Government to implement the ambitious reform process it undertook after the July 11 elections. ” , said Aurescu, before the Foreign Affairs Council that takes place in Luxembourg, according to Agerpres.
On the agenda of the meeting is also a proposal supported by Romania to include in the package on the future of the Eastern Partnership a greater coordination in terms of the security dimension, Bogdan Aurescu also said.
“Five out of six Eastern Partnership countries have frozen conflict on their territory and Romania has suggested including these frozen conflicts on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council,” the minister explained.
He stressed that it was “very important” to work for “greater” financial and technical assistance for structural reforms in the Eastern Partnership.
