The exchange of public transport stops in Prague is problematic. According to the opposition, it must be illuminated
In Prague, about 900 public transport stops, rubbish bins, railings and other elements of urban furniture are to be replaced within two years. So far, the company JCDecaux has been operated, which has had a contract with Prague since 1994. In October 2019, the PLs informed about the above-standard relations between JCDecaux and Pirates. A link to the relevant material can be found below.
Ondřej Prokop, the chairman of the Prague City Hall Club ANO, commented on the city furniture. “But the whole thing is stuck and it’s not just a coronavirus. At present, the city has concluded an agreement through its company Technologie HMP, according to which one third of the furniture elements are to be replaced every six months. However, Prague is already several months late and everything is becoming disproportionately expensive. Therefore, a number of questions arise. Why is the replacement of furniture delayed and is it true that not a single stop is available yet? Is the glass supplier already competed? He pointed out.
Already in 2016, however, the City Council The City of Prague, under the leadership of Mayor Krnáčová (ANO), agreed that the contracting company JCDecaux does not extend and from 2021 Prague will have furniture according to its own design, which it will choose in an international architectural competition and which will better suit the visual style of the capital.

From the beginning, the unions and independent institutions recommended that Prague choose someone to deliver the service, similar to JCDecaux before; he will take care of the stops, he will pay more than before.
“That’s why I wanted to ask all this at the October council. I am glad that Jan Chabr, the councilor for property, stood at the head of the matter and promised that we would deal with the matter in a regular program at the capital council in November, where he would prepare a comprehensive press and discussions, “added Prokop.
Our editorial office also wrote about him two weeks ago, when he was removed from the post of deputy mayor of Prague 11.
“Obviously the order came from the top. There was not a single reason in the council, no objection to my work. However, I took the liberty of pointing out the curatories of Mayor Hřib at the municipality, and that must not be the case. If the change is to look like the PirateSTAN and the coalition TOGETHER get rid of the uncomfortable ones, then we really must not allow it, it has already been here, ” he said as the newsroom investigated the reasons for his dismissal.
