The CSdL took part in the CGIL-CISL-UIL demonstration in Rome
“No to fascism and violence, yes to work, safety and rights”, the slogan of the demonstration that brought 200 thousand people to Piazza San Giovanni, according to the organizers. Requested the dissolution of the forces of neo-fascist inspiration
The CSdL also participated with its delegation in yesterday’s big demonstration in Rome which brought a large crowd to Piazza San Giovanni, which responded to the invitation of CGIL, CISL and UIL.
Enzo Merlini, Agostino D’Antonio, Alfredo Zonzini, Simona Zonzini and Valeriano Francolini, with the flags of the Confederation of Labor, joined the approximately 200 thousand participants, according to the dates of the organizers, who met in Piazza San Giovanni, in the center of Rom.
This massive participation by the entire Italian confederal trade union movement was the best response to the squadron attack organized by neo-fascist movements on the CGIL headquarters a week ago.
“We could not have been there – Confederal Secretary Enzo Merlini declared to the microphones of San Marino RTV – to give solidarity to the CGIL and all Italian workers, for the attack suffered last Saturday. A direct attack on the workers, and us in our own small way we tried to show our solidarity and closeness, so that this can never happen again “.
“No to fascism and violence, yes to work, safety and rights” were the watchwords of the event.
“This is a beautiful day, with many people – declared, among other things, the CGIL Secretary Maurizio Landini – and which shows that the values of our Constitution are very strong, and it is time to apply the Constitution itself.”
Faced with the controversy over the concomitance of the electoral deadline, Landini replied: “It is a day that unites the country, not that divides it”.
Among the issues addressed also health and safety in the workplace, which “must become a constraint for businesses, not a cost. We must stop the massacre”, are the words of the CGIL leader.
Requested by the General Secretaries of the three confederal organizations, the dissolution of all neo-fascist and neo-Nazi forces. CGIL-CISL-UIL therefore appealed to the Italian government to give answers to the issues most felt by workers and retirees, starting with taxation, work, pensions, security and rights.
