On Friday, the Kursaal Congress Center, a coordination meeting was held between the delegations of Andorra, Monaco and San Marino in view of the negotiation sessions for an association agreement with the European Union. The meeting represented an opportunity to discuss the respective negotiation progress in this more recent phase, which has necessarily been affected by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. “The delegations of the three countries discussed the main issues of the negotiation in progress and the most sensitive aspects, in view of their discussion when the negotiation sessions resume face-to-face and in multilateral format”. The three delegations also evaluated the advisability of joint initiatives in negotiations and a possible extension of the opportunities for collaboration with member countries. “The meeting was an opportunity to meet again in a trilateral format after several months and to take stock of the situation regarding the negotiations,” said Foreign Secretary Beccari. “The work focused on what are the main issues for San Marino: access to the EU market for banking and financial services, the establishment of people and the movement of workers. We are confident that we can resume the discussion on these issues too. with the delegation of the European Union, in order to find a mutually satisfying solution “. The delegations of the three states also agreed on the desire to continue contacts using the same format, in rotation, also in the coming months.
