Russia demands from Montenegro the extradition of Telman Ismailov – Rossiyskaya Gazeta
The Prosecutor General’s Office sent a request to the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro to extradite Telman Ismailov to the Russian Federation.
As a correspondent for “RG” in the supervisory department, the request for the extradition of Ismailov to the Russian Federation was prepared on October 7, and sent to Montenegro through a diplomatic channel. As previously reported in the Investigative Committee of Russia, Ismailov was declared internationally wanted in 2017 in connection with the establishment of his involvement in the murder of two entrepreneurs. By now, in the criminal turnover of a person, as well as in the abduction of a person.
According to the Investigative Committee, it was established that Telman Ismailov, the organizer of the murder of two entrepreneurs, Vladimir Savkin and Yuri Brylev, together with his brothers Rafik and Vagif Ismailov, the developers of the crime plan. The perpetrator of the murder was Mehman Kerimov. On May 15, 2016 on Novorizhskoe highway, while in the car, Kerimov fired a pistol at two victims who died from their wounds. Rafik Ismailov, in accordance with an earlier agreement with the brothers, took Kerimov from the scene of the crime, after which the accomplices helped him to escape, as well as to conceal the instrument of the crime.
In 2020, Ismailov’s brother Rafik 17 years of strict regime received the direct executor of the murder, Mehman Kerimov – 13 years in prison. In addition, Ismailov is accused of abducting the singer Avraam Russo in January 2004. The singer was first beaten in the businessman’s office in the Prague restaurant, suppressing the will to resist, and then held in Telman Ismailov’s country house for 24 hours. All this in order for the singer to cancel all his concerts and conclude an agreement for pop performances with Ismailov himself and on his terms. According to the investigation, Russo was released only after he agreed to all the conditions of the kidnappers.
Telman Ismailov was detained on October 1 in Montenegro at the request of Russia. After that, the Podgorica court sent Ismailov into custody, where he will remain until the decision to extradite him or refuse to extradite him. Ismailov himself, according to his defense, denies all charges of kidnapping and political asylum in Montenegro.
