Rome, 13 kilos of marijuana seized: 53-year-old arrested from Catanzaro
ROME A continuous and widespread control of the territory and a constant info-investigative activity, has allowed the agents of the State Police, of the “Appio Nuovo” police station, directed by Pamela De Giorgi, to identify in via dell’Arco di Travertino, inside of an illegal occupation hidden in the vegetation, a large marijuana greenhouse, with about 30 plants in full bloom, 2 meters high and an adjacent cottage, presumed to be a shop. After hours of observation, the cops noticed a Romanian citizen enters the cottage. The man, at the sight of the agents, thanks to the presence of 3 large dogs of his property put in defense of the plantation, barricaded himself in the house, inciting the animals towards the operators to prevent them from accessing the fund and subsequent control. Despite this attempt, the policemen, after a few hours, thanks to the help of specialized specialized personnel, still managed to access the land, but the subject, who was in any case identified by the agents and reported unavailable, in the meantime had managed to to lose their tracks, escaping to the adjacent countryside.
The search and the marijuana plants
A local search was then carried out, following which a marijuana greenhouse was found consisting of about 30 plants, while inside an adjacent room about 100 plants of the same substance were found in the drying phase, for a total weight of about kilograms, as well as material for packaging the doses and 2 digital scales. The dogs were then entrusted to specialized ASL personnel who, after having them asleep, given their aggressiveness, transported them to the “La Muratella” kennel.
During the intervention, the policemen also discovered, locked in a very small room, 5 puppies of a few months in a state of abandonment between dirt and without water and food. It was also found that even adult dogs were free in an unhealthy environment, with dirt and mice. Following the veterinary check, the dogs were found to be devoid of microchips and undernourished and, therefore, were held at the kennel pending subsequent custody, given their previous state of abandonment.
The “owner” of the greenhouse
The investigators, certain that the Romanian citizen was only a keeper of the drug, continued the observation of the land in order to identify the “Green Thumb”. And a 53-year-old Italian SG was identified, originally from Catanzaro who is originally from the ground by opening the padlock to protect it with the keys. Following a search carried out at his home, 2 more greenhouses of different sizes for the cultivation of marijuana were found, 6 seedlings contained within them and about 1 hectogram of the same substance ready for sale, as well as all the material and the necessary for the cultivation of the narcotic substance. The man was then arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority pending the trial by direct route.
