To rejoin spain since Toulouse by getting on his bike, this will soon be possible via a continuous and secure cycle path over 170 kilometers.
This project cross-border cycle path, appointed Transgarona, which runs along the Garonne and to connect Toulouse to the Val d’Aran in Spain, is in progress.
A project notably carried by the Department of Haute-Garonne.
A section inaugurated in the summer of 2021
A section, 21 kilometers long, between Cierp-Gaud (Haute-Garonne) and the Spanish border at Fos, was opened during the summer of 2021 at a cost of 2.9 million euros.
This last section was presented to cyclists on Sunday, October 10, 2021, as part of Sustainable Development Week.

Another 43 km section to be completed
In addition to this section, a first 107 km route was carried out by Carbonne at Cierp-Gaud; between 2004 and 2009; at a cost of 2.2 million euros.
“A final section of 43 km remains to be done to the north, between Marquefave and the border with the Toulouse Metropolis,” indicates the Department of Haute-Garonne, which specifies:
“An authorization request file has been filed with the State services which is still being investigated. Construction should begin in 2023 (times varying according to the time required for examining State services) for a development cost estimated at 5.7 million euros ”.
When it is finished, the Transgarona cycle path will be more than 170 kilometers on the French side. To which it will be necessary to add about thirty kilometers on the Spanish side. For a total of 200 kilometers between Toulouse and the Val d’Aran.
