PCR tests: positive rate at two percent
In 109,538 meaningful PCR tests in the last 24 hours, the positive rate was two percent. This 24-hour figure is above the average of the previous week (1.5 percent). 6,636 vaccinations were carried out on Saturday. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 5,815,253 people received at least one partial vaccination: that is 65.1 percent of the population. 5,520,291 people and thus 61.8 percent of Austrians are fully immunized. 190,328 people were vaccinated for the third time.
“Only a high rate of two-fold vaccinations and the willingness to take a further third vaccination dose help to contain the pandemic effectively,” said Mückstein, according to his departments. At the same time, the Minister of Health appealed: “As with many other vaccinations, according to the current state of scientific knowledge, corona vaccination needs to be conscientiously transported in more doses in order to maintain protection.”

Further vaccination necessary
It is currently certain that after two vaccinations with Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or with an mRNA vaccine, a third bite is necessary for longer-term vaccination protection, i.e. Mückstein. The National Vaccination Board also recommends everyone who has received the Covid 19 vaccine Janssen to be vaccinated a second time, preferably with an mRNA vaccine and no earlier than 28 days after the initial sting.
Salzburg beaten at vaccination coverage
The vaccination rate (complete basic immunization, two stings) is highest in Burgenland at 69.2 percent. In Lower Austria 64.6 percent of the population are vaccinated, in Styria 62.6 percent. After Vienna (60.9), Vorarlberg (60.8), Tyrol (60), Carinthia (58.4) and Salzburg (58) Upper Austria brings up the rear with a vaccination rate of 56.8 percent (these figures refer to Saturday ).
Incidence highest in Upper Austria
The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Upper Austria with 247.5, Güter, from Salzburg, Lower Austria and Styria (218.3, 169.6 and 163, respectively). Carinthia (138.1), Vienna (129.1), Tyrol (124.2), Burgenland (79.7) and Vorarlberg (76.1) also follow.
