CAA: Information for a helicopter landing in the area of Kozani
For the compulsory offer of the helicopter today at noon in the area of Kozani, it informs with an announcement of the Civil Aviation Service.
According to the CAA, the private helicopter took off from Athens with three (3) passengers. The flight plan he had submitted will operate a private flight to Corfu following the route from the Corinthian and Ionian Seas with alternative airports in case of a problem Zakynthos and Kefalonia.
Shortly after the helicopter took off, he asked the air traffic controllers to change the route to Corfu and head to the island from Tanagra, Almyros and Meteora following a route from the mainland and not coastal as he had initially stated.
When the flight reached the mountainous area of Pindos, the pilot contacted the inspectors and informed that he would be headed to Thessaloniki due to unfavorable weather conditions.
On the way to Thessaloniki, as reported by the CAA, the pilot of the helicopter landed in a supply field in the area of Kozani as he was in an emergency phase due to an indication that the fuel is running out. When the refueling of the helicopter was completed, the fall continued to Thessaloniki, where it landed safely at the “Macedonia” airport.
