Agen. Lot-et-Garonne: at Walygator Park, already a great success for the first day of Halloween activities
Nearly 2,000 people converged on Walygator Park for this first day in Halloween mode.
Even the sun was the big guest of honor for this first day of Halloween-themed entertainment for Walygator Park. Difficult in this case, for those in charge of the amusement park, not to have a smile. On this Saturday, October 16 – which marks the launch of the festivities – Benoit Bellocq, the communications director saw this day as a “sign of optimism” for the next three weeks. “We can not forget how it ended last year with a party that must be canceled at the last minute due to the health crisis linked to Covid-19”, explains one of the managers of the Walygator park . So, for this new session dedicated to Halloween, their fingers crossed.
Like every year, the park has been completely transformed, taking on the air of a grand phantom ball. A staggering figure: more than 7,000 tonnes of pumpkins were observed in the aisles and various settings. What about thousands of straw bales or thousands of cobwebs. Nothing has been forgotten for this occasion.
The principle is the same as the last season. “We find elements like the haunted house, the world of zombies”, he continues “we also have a sea lion show without forgetting some new features such as the Saltimbranks show”. A show in the middle of the park that visitors were able to discover yesterday afternoon. A show that combines the essential elements of this Halloween party.
For this first day, success was met “with a gauge close to 2,000 visitors”. “Rather satisfactory”, for Benoit Bellocq. Without much change compared to the summer season, they were also able to enjoy all the attractions. With this mild weather, they did not hesitate to take advantage of these a little wet, like the Drakkar. The pirate ship or the boomerang did not deny their usual success on this Saturday.
This Sunday, the sun will once again be in its firmament for a new stream of visitors eager for thrills. Children and adults alike will enjoy pony rides or even the adventures of the Cocinnelle or the Flying Chairs.
A priority for seasonal workers
Thus, Walygator Park will be open until November 6 in Halloween mode. “We are also there next weekend and then for the All Saints holidays,” notes Benoit Bellocq. The first week, the park will be open from Wednesday October 27 to Monday November 1. For the second week, the site will be open from November 4 to 7.
A concentration of seasonal workers is fully mobilized to welcome visitors. “Between attractions, catering or for activities”, details the communication manager acknowledging that “recruitment is always open if people are gathered to join the Walygator team”.
In any case, everything is ready for this end of the Walkygator season to be a great success.
Without a doubt, Sylvain Chatain, the director of the Walygator Park, was still going through the gorge at the end of the season. Due to the health crisis, everything was canceled at the last minute. A decision that he had struggled to accept “without consultation”.
The indicators are rather favorable for this 2021 edition. Thus, the park sees things in a big way. Two fireworks shows are on the program for this Walloween session. The first is scheduled for Sunday, October 31, from 7:30 p.m. The second will take place on November 6, always at the same time. Always festive moments await the family audience. It is also a way of turning the page on this 2021 season, the first under the aegis of the Walygator brand “which will be better than that of last year”, even if the implementation of the health pass had an impact on a drop in attendance in the middle of summer. And to look already towards 2022 with the continuation of the metamorphosis of the Lot-et-Garonnais park.
