Toulouse: the departmental council debates at the Fête de l’Huma
Organized two days in Ramonville this weekend, the Fête de l’Huma has during the beginning of a debate on the role of the departmental council following the attacks suffered on its existence.
A special Huma Festival opened this Saturday morning, October 16 in Ramonville. She’s being held at the village hall today, and at the Bikini on Sunday. An unexpected two-site format due to the Covid crisis and Pierre Lacaze, departmental secretary of the PCF, is already considering a return to a larger party next year, in the Mermoz room or in the open air.
The Feast began with a debate on the role of the Department, the attacks it suffered on its existence and recalled by Georges Méric, the PS president of the Department, and which could resurface with the presidential campaign. “The Department belongs to the local bloc”, underlined Georges Méric before recalling that its DNA is solidarity. “The Department is a stone in the neoliberal logic”, launched Martine Croquette, new departmental councilor and vice-president.
This Saturday afternoon, the Fête de l’Huma welcomes Carole Delga at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Fabien Roussel, PCF presidential candidate, for a debate on health, research and vaccines. Sunday, the morning debate will focus on aeronautics and employment. The afternoon will be placed under the sign of international solidarity with sustained support for the New Afghan People’s Party in the presence of its president.
