the new exhibition in Sestri Ponente
Genoa – It is open to the public from Sunday 17 October 2021, And until December 15th, on the third floor of the shop Bagnara lily, in via Sestri 46, the exhibition Marco Lavarelli. Projects for Genoa, dedicated to the work of the architect, sponsored by the Foundation of the Order of Architects and promoted by four companies in Genoa: Giglio Bagnara, Gadolla, Interform, ETT.
Marco Lavarello was a leading designer in the Genoa of the economic boom; Marco Lavarello can be counted among the protagonists of the intense season of urban renewal that affected the city after the war, to which he contributed by designing famous buildings and installations.
He trained at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Genoa, however he did not finish his studies due to a sad family affair. However, he carried out some practical experience with important figures in the Genoese architectural panorama, including Luigi Carlo Daneri.
When his business took shape on an autonomous level, the fact that Lavarello could not sign his own projects led him to rely on his sister Giannina Lavarello and to surround yourself with young architects.
He mainly worked in the fields of interior architecture and design and designed the new one in the 1960s Department Stores of Giglio Bagnara, in via Sestri, where today it is possible to admire the projects by Lavarello, thus creating a strong link between the exhibited contents and space.
are exposed vintage photo of the buildings and related construction sites and above all many original designs made with different techniques, chosen from those with the greatest aesthetic impact. Marco Lavarello was very fond of the graphic representation of projects, a care also transmitted to his students.
The exhibition is enriched by some interactive digital installations, so as to form an even more evocative and dynamic reading of the materials on display. In addition, the exhibition dedicated to Lavarello will be accompanied by a series of training meetings, also valid for the continuing professional training of Architects, on topics related to the contents of the exhibition.
