Prague-The second year of the Comic-Con Prague festival, which focuses on films, series, games, comics and books in the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres, ended today in Prague. The three-day festival offered, among other things, meetings with foreign actors and creators of well-known sci-fi and fantasy films and series. According to the organizers, these events were the most popular with the participants, who received a total of 18,500 at the festival. The third year of Comic-Con will take place from 18 to 20 February 2022, the organizers announced today.
The so-called cosplayers take part in the Comic-Con Prague festival, especially on Saturdays, who express their love for their favorite fantasy heroes not only through costumes, and thus demonstrate their skill, but also through their acting talent. “Their number exceeded our expectations,” said the representatives of the organizers in today’s evaluation.
Participants could also measure their strengths in board games, listen to lectures not only on science fiction and fantasy, or attend some workshops. The organizers also described the FutureCity project as successful, which transferred interest to Prague through virtual reality in the near future. The participants of the virtual tour found themselves in the metropolises cleaner, quieter and also greener. Several city companies took part in the project, and spectators could visit, among other things, a transport exchange or a biological wastewater treatment plant.
Comic-Con Prague is based on a foreign concept that has a half-century history. The first such event took place in the USA in 1970. At the first year of the domestic meeting of fans of comics, sci-fi and fantasy films, series and books, 23,000 visitors arrived at the O2 universe in Prague last year.
