Round-up National League – Gottéron equalizes 30-year club record – Biel wins in Zurich – sport
- Friborg-Gottéron successfully designed the 9th game in a row at Ajoie, which equaled a club record.
- The EHC Biel remains Leader Freiburg thanks to a 4-1 victory in the Hallenstadion in the neck.
- Geneva, Bern, Langnau and Davos also celebrate victories in the 16th round of the National League.
Ajoie 0-5 Freiburg
Friborg-Gottéron has also continued its successful streak in Pruntrut. At HC Ajoie, the “dragons” won 5-0. Thanks to the 9th win in the series without losing points, a 30-year club record was equalized. The newcomer stood up to the leader, but missed the coolness in the decisive moments. At the origin of Gottéron’s success was David Desharnais, who brought his colors into the lead from behind the gate (12th). In the second third, Samuel Walser (25th) and Julien Sprunger (38th) increased. Chris DiDomenico (53rd) and Benoît Jecker (60th) put the cherry on the cake for the guests’ performance. Remarkable: For Gottéron goalie Reto Berra it was the 3rd shutout in the 5th game.
ZSC Lions – Biel 1: 4
Biel remains leader Freiburg in the table thanks to a 4-1 win in Zurich on their heels. The key scene of the encounter took place in the 34th minute, when the Zurich-based team lost a disc in their own zone and used Biel in the person of Luca Cunti to make it 3-1. A few minutes earlier, Denis Malgin had brought the home side back into the game with a 2-1 draw. Damien Brunner (19./60., Empty Netter) was responsible for the first and last goal of the game. It was the third consecutive loss for the Lions.
Lugano – Davos 1: 3
HC Lugano is still not moving. Coach Chris McSorley’s team drew the short straw against Davos for the second time within 8 days and has only one victory from the last 7 games across all competitions. The Graubünden 1-0 – Julian Schmutz was criminally left alone by the Ticino defensive (15th) – was able to make up for Lugano immediately (16th). There was no reaction to the guests’ second hit by Andres Ambühl, who of all things was in a pressure phase on the “Bianconeri” field. On the contrary: veteran Ambühl increased early in the third round to 3: 1.
Geneva-Servette – Rapperswil 4: 1
“Problem child” Geneva celebrates the 1st victory after 5 defeats against strong Rapperswiler. From the hosts’ point of view, the game had started suboptimally: Outnumbered, Gian-Marco Wetter (14th) used an exemplary counterattack with a full wrist shot. After that, however, the people of Roserstadt dismantled and left the dictation of the game to the people of Geneva. Joël Vermin took advantage of this with a direct decrease from the air after half of the game (34th) to equalize. Immediately after the final third whistled, the game finally turned: Valtteri Filppula distracted in front of Rapperswil goalie Melvin Nyffeler untenable. Josh Jooris (54th) finally made the decision in the power play. Noah Rod, who had shown a strong game, hit the empty goal in the last minute.
Lausanne – SCL Tigers 1: 4
Langnau was able to take the momentum from the first home win the day before against Ajoie in Lausanne. The Emmentaler show a good away game and took the lead in the 23rd minute after a balanced but goalless third of the start thanks to Alexandre Grenier. But the lead did not last long: Andrea Glauser, acting in the majority, used a pass from Joël Genazzi with a massive direct decrease to equalize (26th). Thanks to 3 goals in the final third, the Tigers, who did not play efficiently in French-speaking Switzerland, celebrated an away win. Kay Schweri (46th), and Jesper Olofsson, who did a perfect counterattack, and Harri Pesonen into the empty goal to make it 4-1 gave the guests the next sense of achievement.
Bern – Ambri 3: 2
With the first degree, Matt D’Agostini Ambri had taken the lead after 20 seconds in the capital. A Bernese goalie Philip Wüthrich had absolutely taken his eyes off the conclusion. After the lightning start, things got even better for the Leventines in the last minute of the third: André Heim scored outnumbered after SCB defender Mika Henauer played a bad pass. The 21-year-old made up for his faux pas with a nice “Buebetrickli” in the middle third (28th) and thus initiated the turnaround: First Tristan Scherwey met to equalize, before Ramon Untersander scored the 3-2 late winner 6 minutes before the end marked.
