Athens tourism at the heart of the Ministry of Tourism
The promotion of tourism in Athens was attempted through a series of actions and contacts of the competent Minister Vassilis Kikilias, who met with the managing director of Athens International Airport Giannis Paraschis.
The meeting discussed issues of airport strategy, as well as analysis of common targeting during the transition to the new options that have emerged from the pandemic crisis. Mr. Paraschis noted a positive expected movement of visitors in October, while the network of actions and incentives to attract airlines beyond the peak periods was developed.
Recently, the Minister of Tourism has been in contact with the hoteliers of Athens, with airlines and travel agents with the aim of promoting the tourist flow to Athens. A few days ago they met with the representatives of TUI and the possibilities of promoting Athens as a destination throughout the year and especially during the autumn and winter months emerged, with TUI executives expressing their strong interest in this prospect. The meeting was held with the representatives of the Athens-Attica and Argosaronikos Hoteliers Association where they presented the proposal of TUI and it was agreed to plan the first upcoming maintenance period between two bodies, for the further strengthening of the tourist product of the city.
