Actors read chat histories of the Austrian ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz
The short affair has made headlines in the past few days. A theater in Vienna is taking this as an opportunity to bring the Austrian ex-Chancellor’s delicate chats to the stage.
For corruption and fraud, the former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz is the focus of investigations. Last week, the 35-year-old resigned from office, and since Thursday he has been back in the parliament in Vienna as a member of parliament and parliamentary group leader of the Conservative Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP).
The “Causa Kurz” is now making it onto the theater stage: On Saturday, the Burgtheater in Vienna, in cooperation with the Austrian “Standard”, presented explosive chat minutes from Kurz. It is about the text messages that the public prosecutor’s office used as a starting point for their investigations, the newspaper said. Among others, Kurz and his close confidante Thomas Schmid, a former employee in the cabinets of Austrian ministries, were involved. The chat history had caused quite a stir a few months ago.
Six actors, including two women and four men, appear in the video reading. See here or excerpts from the performance in the video above. The entire reading is available on the “Standard” page.
