Sunday October 17, 2021, the cycles resume the pavement for the protection of endangered unpaved land, with the first edition of VéloTerres, from 10 am to 12:30 pm approximately. Departing from a fallow orchard on the outskirts of the Suzon, rue de Bruges, in Dijon, we will travel through the city from north to south to the Lentillères Free Quarter, passing through some key places of unbridled urbanization and ecocide engaged by the Metropolis, where various activists will speak: at the Jardins de l’Engrenage fires (avenue de Langres), in the future Bd Thiers garden, in front of the park of the Château de Montmuzard (rue Isabelle de Portugal) …
What is VéloTerres?
It is a sort of free, festive, lively and committed bicycle tour, following a family route that offers a detour through our lands to be defended. In short, a direct view of an ongoing disaster, resulting from a PLUi-HD (Plan Local d’Urbanisme Intercommunal – Habitats et Displacement) imposed without real public consultation by Dijon Métropole.
This first edition of VéloTerres will also reveal the hope, determination and resilience of those who work, resist, occupy, defend our natural and agricultural heritage, precious and indispensable, creating the societal alternatives of tomorrow, always threatened by a policy. of town planning, destructive and oriented by profit, cementing with incredible indifference the future of young people, the daily lives of local residents as well as every citizen initiative.
But what is going on behind the scenes of our heritage?
The challenge of this urban cycling route is to better understand in order to act better, in this very particular and (sometimes) terrifying context of environmental and climatic emergency. It is necessary to act now for a sustainable, responsible and joyful city, working for resilience, autonomy, food accessibility.
Finding realistic alternatives to the excessive urban sprawl and the dangerously irresponsible urban over-densification that is currently taking place is obviously possible.
