“72 hours without compromise”: three days of helping and making the world a better place
INNSBRUCK. 200 young people across the Tyrol were in the service of a good cause. The Stadtblatt presented an impressive balance sheet. A group of rum created a mobile cross-generational escape room. Teamwork: Young people from Völs received support from the Jungschar children with their project assignment. Solidarity and social commitment
Change the world, make a contribution and tackle where it is needed most: from October 13 to 16, over 2,500 young people were Austria’s ambassadors for 72 hours for solidarity and social commitment. With the tenth round of “72 hours without compromise”, they proved that they can achieve great things together, that they are uncompromisingly committed to others and that they are socially active even in times of pandemics.
Anniversary motto
Under the anniversary motto “We mix with”, the participants worked in around 250 projects across Austria for a social cause, around 200 young people across Tyrol were involved. In Innsbruck, for example, they have made the clinic grounds colorful with a time-out path. In Landeck-Zams, Telfs, Schwaz and Lienz, digital tours of need have been created that provide insights into different living environments. Another group has produced a prototype for a cross-generational escape room.
Thank you
Already at the starting shot in Innsbruck, Bishop Hermann Glettler said: “The enthusiasm of the young people is a strong sign of hope in a society that is stressed and tired at times.” Federal President Alexander van der Bellen addressed the participants directly at the end: “Thank you, that In the past 72 hours you have rolled up your sleeves in the service of a good cause. You, the young people in our country, make a significant contribution to our society and what you do makes a big difference: you get involved. Thank you for your great commitment in the past 72 hours and in the future. “
embellishment
Eighteen young people have as part of the campaign from 13.-16. October made their labor and creativity available to beautify the outdoor facilities of the Innsbruck clinic. Pipe brackets become colorful eye-catchers, a bare wall becomes a giant painting and a new Mental Fit path enriches the outdoor area of the Innsbruck clinic from now on. In the last few days, a total of eighteen young people, with the support of the in-house craftsmen of the Innsbruck clinic, have swung brushes and hammers and the result can be seen. “Our volunteers don’t just go to the wards to visit patients. They also take people with them and walk with them around the area, ”says Marta Neukam, the managing director of the Klinikbrücke association, who organizes visiting and piloting services for the Tyrolean clinics and who can take part in the campaign for 72 hours. “These tours are now varied and I would like to thank the young people very much for that.” Clemens Rissbacher, Commercial Director of the Innsbruck clinic, is also enthusiastic about the result: “The 72 hours without compromise campaign is thanks to the young people’s commitment Zest for life in the Innsbruck clinic. The result is impressive and the idea of giving the area more color worked perfectly. Many thanks to everyone who has been there in the last few days ”.
Positive balance despite COVID-19
“Despite the simple and straightforward planning and implementation due to the corona pandemic, thousands of young people showed during the youth social campaign that they are ready to help and work for one another,” reports Magdalena Bachleitner, honorary chairman of the Catholic Youth Austria. “72 hours without compromise” IS organized by the Catholic Youth Austria in cooperation with youngCaritas and Hitradio Ö3. The transmitter was also the big stage for the social action in 2 021, so that the special commitment of the young people could also have an effect beyond the project locations. Ö3-Wecker presenter Robert Kratky traveled all over the country, visited locations and shared his impressions and experiences with Austria. Robert Kratky: “There was a lot to do – extremely demanding projects on the one hand, but also extremely motivated young people on the other. It was simply great to experience this zest for life, the energy and the positive thinking live and to convey it to the whole of Austria. It is difficult for me to look ahead – and at this point a big thank you to all young people across the country – you have achieved great things in such a short time and it was an honor for me to be there. ”
Austria’s largest youth social campaign is organized by Catholic Youth Austria in cooperation with youngCaritas and Hitradio Ö3.
