Toulouse: the Balanovka note
Fifth for his debut in mid-September in Bordeaux, Balanovka showed a completely different face this Friday, winning brilliantly in the Prix des Violettes, in Toulouse, under the saddle of Jean-Bernard Eyquem. Placed at the rear after a few meters of racing, a bit shiny, the protégé of Jean-Claude Rouget then announced herself all outside as soon as the entrance to the last straight line was entered, again falling behind meter after meter. on the leaders, until she herself takes the lead, in the last 100 meters of the course. At the end of the finish post, a length and a quarter separates her from Six Different Ways (Myboycharlie), second just ahead of Israa (Charm Spirit), third. Daughter of Lope de Vega bred by her owner, Alain Jathière, Balnovka is, to date, the third product of Balashkova (already initiated by Jean-Claude Rouget at the time) to have passed the post at the head, after the consistent Moujik but above all Volshka, winner here in Toulouse of a Prix du Haras des Granges – Prix Caravelle (L.) in addition to a third place in a Prix Cléopâtre (Gr.3) at Saint-Cloud.
