Freiburg – Geneva-Servette 2-0
The duel between the strong form Freiburg and the troubled Geneva Servette took the expected course. While the “Dragons” celebrated their 8th victory in the series, the starving Servette can now look back on 9 defeats in the last 10 games. Mauro Jörg (15th) and Christopher DiDomenico (34th) scored for Freiburg, who replaced Biel as the leader of the National League. Goalie Reto Berra celebrates his second shutout of the season.
Biel – Lausanne 1: 3
The former front runner Biel received their 4th defeat of the season against Lausanne – the 3rd in front of their own audience. Thanks to a goal from Yannick Rathgeb, the Zealanders took the lead less than 1 second before the end of the first period. Christoph Bertschy brought the guest back into the game after a nice individual performance (40th), Guillaume Maillard made the turn in the 46th minute. Six seconds before the end, Andrea Glauser scored with an empty Netter to make it 3-1.
Rapperswil – ZSC Lions 3: 1
Two remaining exclusions within 5 minutes caused a stir in Rapperswil. Rapperswils Dominic Lammer (5./Crosscheck) and Lions striker Chris Baltisberger (12./Check against the head) briefly under the shower. After a balanced middle third with one hit field each, the decision in favor of the home team in the 52nd minute. Andrew Rowe kept an overview in a chaos in front of ZSC goalie Lukas Flüeler and pushed in to make it 2-1. Nathan Vouardoux (59th) ensures the decision and the 5th home win in a row with a hit in the empty goal.
Ambri – Lugano 2-1
At the beginning of the 3rd Ticino Derby there were more celebrities than goals to marvel at. Athlete Ajla Del Ponte and swimmer Noè Ponti threw in the puck, and Nati coach Murat Yakin was spotted in the stands. The first hit, however, only came in the 48th minute, when Mark Arcobello, to the chagrin of the 6750 spectators, met the Lugano leadership. Only 47 seconds later, thanks to Brandon McMillan, Ambri managed to equalize. And for the home team it got even better: Thanks to Michael Fora’s goal to make it 2-1 (59th), Ambri once again managed a Derby victory after 8 defeats.
