Novak: Russia will expand cooperation with France, Australia and Korea in the field of hydrogen – Economy and business
MOSCOW, October 15. / TASS /. Russian companies are developing more than 20 projects in the field of hydrogen energy and plan to enter international cooperation in this area with a number of countries in the near future. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, speaking at the strategic session on the development of hydrogen energy in Russia under the direction of the government of Mikhail Mishustin on Friday.
“Within the framework of international cooperation of working groups on traffic from various countries. In particular, an agreement has already been signed with Germany, and on the way – with France, Australia and South Korea,” Novak said. More than 20 projects in the field of hydrogen are in various stages of development. “Many working groups and companies are implementing projects in the field of hydrogen energy. The key ones are Gazprom, Rosatom, Novatek, Rusnano,” Novak said.

Russia’s hydrogen fuel will increase the volume of hydrocarbons in the global energy market, Novak explained. Russia may occupy at least 20% of the hydrogen market in the future, he noted.
About the concept of hydrogen energy
In early August, the Russian government approved a concept for the development of hydrogen energy in Russia. It involves the creation of specialized energy carriers in the domestic market.
At the next stages (until 2035 and 2050), it is planned to create a large export-oriented production of the economy, to switch to the serial application of hydrogen technologies in various sectors from petrochemistry to housing and communal services.
Among the objectives of the approved concept is the use of additional in the field of production, use and export of Russia, as well as in this number of countries – industry leaders.
