“Le mec de la tombe d’à côté” aux Salinières de Bordeaux
“The guy from the grave next door”, to be discovered at Ses Salinières Theater, rue Buhan in Bordeaux, until Wednesday November 24, 2021.
A man and a woman.
It is the story of a woman who regularly visits the grave of her husband, who died too young. A librarian and city dweller, she lives in a trendy apartment full of books. In the cemetery, she often crosses paths with the guy from the grave next door, whose appearance annoys her as much as the flashy stele that he flowers diligently. It is the story of a man who has lived alone on the family farm with his twenty-four dairy cows since the death of his mother. He is doing as best he can, with his peasant common sense and a hell of a dose of self-mockery. Every time he meets her, he is exasperated by her neighbor in the cemetery, her felt hat and her little poetry notebook.
Birth of a passion
One day, however, a smile bursts simultaneously on their lips and they both remain dazzled … It is the beginning of a devouring passion with a breathtaking romanticism and a stripping humor. Nominated in the category “Best private theater show” in 2011, this adaptation of the novel by Katarina Mazetti was created in a staging of Panchika Vélez at the Théâtre du Petit Saint-Martin in 2009 and resumed at the Théâtre de la Renaissance, at the Théâtre des Bouffes Parisiens, then in 2016, at the Théâtre des Feux de la Rampe. In 2016, David foenkinos adapted the novel for television with Marine Delterme and Pascal Elbé. To discover at Theater des Salinières in Bordeaux, until November 24, 2021. Full price: € 24.
