mass. He is accused by the prosecutor of issuing fake fire prevention certificates in exchange for favors: a job for his wife, a dinner for two. But the accusations against Marco Fritella, former executive of the Massa-Carrara fire brigade, now on duty in Pisa, who yesterday morning appeared before the judge of the preliminary hearing, together with the other five defendants in the investigationFire. An investigation that, in December 2017, led to the closure of the Guglielmi theater in Massa.

The evidentiary incident took place yesterday and it seems to confirm the defenders’ thesis according to which the certificates were issued correctly.

The searches were triggered following a complaint made by the same command of the fire brigade, which indicated a certain lightness in the issue of fire authorizations. The prosecutor’s office (led by the chief prosecutor at the time Aldo Giubilaro) sifted through all the certifications issued by the then manager, coming to the conclusion that some had been issued illegally.

Among these, the most striking, the one for the Guglielmi theater. The inspection of Frittella dates back to 2013 and according to the manager there are all the conditions to keep the theater open. According to the prosecutor’s office, no and for this reason, in December 2017, the seals were triggered. Massa remains without a theater.

According to the accusation, false certificates are also issued to the Albiano Magra waste company, Mauro Costa, in exchange for an alleged hiring of his wife in the company. The same exchange of favors would have taken place, a year later, in 2016, at Iglom, a company from Massa that produces lubricants.

With the technician assigned to another company, Massa Legnami, on the other hand, the certificate would have been issued in exchange for an alleged dinner for two. The La Palma condominium and the municipal garage in via Bastione, in Massa, were also targeted by the Public Prosecutor: in both cases, Frittella issued false certificates, even if it is not clear for what purpose.

Yesterday, as mentioned, the evidentiary incident took place. The report was drawn up by Andrea Ugolini, the engineer who issued the fire prevention certificate for the mega palace of justice in Florence. He answered the judge’s questions on a case-by-case basis. From what emerges, according to the reconstruction of the lawyers, the certificates issued to the various companies would have been correct. However, the Guglielmi theater and the municipal garage remained out of the discussion. The hearing was postponed to November 2.

In addition to Frittella are accused: Mauro Costa (defended by Enrico Marzaduri And Silvia Rossi), of the homonymous waste company; Emilio And Fulvio Ricci (the first defended by Graziano Maffei And Stefano Beretti, the second from Enzo Frediani), respectively president and director of Iglom; Gianni Barotti (defended by Luca Benedetti And Gian Enrico Pesce), technician in charge of Massa Legnami, e Roberta Ferrandi (lawyer: Stefano Del Corso), technician in charge of the La Palma condominium.
