The people of Brno often go there in their free time. The recreational functions of the Brno dam are widely used, for example, in the pandemic time, when travel was limited. In the coming years, city officials will focus on improving the traffic situation in its vicinity. Which people call it catastrophic.

The crossroads at the entrance to the dam is very unfortunate. The car parks are full on weekends, drivers break the rules. The roads are from the 1930s and are not suitable, they have to be adjusted, “the man described.
Improving the transport service of the dam was recently included by Brno councilors among strategic projects. Would you like to wait, parking and complete the bike paths. They plan to grasp the site comprehensively and solve it as a whole. So far, only carry out sub-projects to improve accessibility.

Brno councilors have newly included the plan among strategic projects.
It will deal with the unsatisfactory state of sticking to the locality from Přístavní Street, the missing parts of the network of cycle paths, the missing connection of the Rakovecká stops with the bay and the risky situation in Hrázní Street.
The project will focus on the overall appearance of monitoring to the dam, modifications to the traffic regime in Hrázní Street, expansion and construction of other accepted cycle paths and infrastructure.
It should be completed by 2030, the costs are not yet known.
This is a long-term project that is to improve the traffic situation at the dam by 2030. “It will focus on the overall appearance of finding the dam, adjusting the traffic regime in Hrázní, expanding and building other access bike paths and infrastructure,” said Kratochvíl.
Compared to its surroundings, it probably affects the planned road 43 the most. It should lead across the Svratka River near the reservoir dam.
Already next year, the workers will start renovating the intersection of Obvodová and Přístavní streets, from where most drivers come to the tank. “There will be wider, newly controlled traffic lights, with the possibility of turning for trucks. The bay will also see changes in public transport, “said Tomáš Jára, the deputy mayor of Bystrice.
According to the regional coordinator of Besip, Pavel Čížek, it is necessary to make traffic modifications in the vicinity of the dam, which will lead to greater traffic safety. “We have to realize that there is a huge movement of cyclists, pedestrians, a lot of cars. In the season from spring to autumn, it faces a huge burden, because it is an important tourist location for the whole of Brno and its surroundings, “Čížek pointed out.
