This is not trivial. A Toulouse, the firefighters are then the false ceiling of a café-restaurant located at 42, boulevard de Strasbourg, near the Jeanne d’Arc metro, come to partially collapse…. and this in full service !
A water leak at the origin of the disaster
About 15 firefighters attended at around 10:30 a.m. They evacuated the eight employees of the Mastroquet of the market and securing the premises.
“The false ceiling was overloaded due to a water leak. The flood caused a partial collapse of the ceiling “, addressing the Haute-Garonne firefighters to Toulouse news.
“It could have been much more serious”
If there is fortunately no injuries, the consequences of this drop in the ceiling could be much more serious, as indicated Jerome Gomis, the manager of the café-restaurant, to our colleagues from France 3 Occitanie :
“An iron bar went through the false ceiling, and a large plaque came loose (…). If it hadn’t been for the cables, the ceiling might have fallen on our waitress who is just below, and on the customers. It could have been much more serious“.
It’s a blow for the manager which is thus obliged to close its establishment until further notice. He and his employees therefore find themselves technically unemployed.
