The opening hours of the shops in Rome from 15 October 2021
New hours for commercial, artisanal and productive activities in Rome. L’Ordinance 172 of 13/10/2021 since from 15 October to 15 November 2021 Capitoline shops and businesses comply with the provisions aimed at containing and managing the spread of COVID-19.
To this end, “there are reasons and legal requirements which reduce, in order to limit the risk of the law in the Ordinance, the possibility of creating public places, open to the public and private”. All Municipalities are therefore invited to observe and accept the following provisions, taking action to ensure that offices and commercial establishments change their opening and closing times and communicate them to their customers.
New timetables for the food sector
The activities that fall within the so-called “First band (from F1A to and F1B)” will observe the opening hours Monday to Friday between 5am and 8.15am. This category includes all activities in the food sector, medium and large sales structures in the food sector, ovens and bakers.
Timetables for all other categories
All the activities belonging to the “Second band (F2 and F3)” will be open instead from Monday to Friday after 9.15 am.
These include non-food laboratories (artisanal and non-structured), proximity businesses not related to food activities, medium and large sales companies in the non-food sector, phone centers, electronic shops and internet points.
Obligations and exemptions
According to the Capitoline ordinance 172, the commercial establishments will be obliged to display their own opening and closing times depending on your commercial type, making them clearly visible for customers. This discipline also applies to commercial and artisanal businesses included in the Shopping Centers.
The hourly provisions do not apply to street trading and public area activities, newsagents, tobacconists, pharmacies, drugstores, hardware stores, catering activities in the broad sense, DIY and paint shops, car dealerships, hairdressers, barbers and beauticians, stationeries, stationery and bookstores.
As regards the closing time, commercial operators will be able to comply with the national and regional legislation governing their activity. If the commercial activity is in possession of several operating licenses for the same venue, it will be able to freely choose the time to be respected based on the time slots of the category to which it belongs.
