Swiss representative takes bronze at the Concours des Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs
The French chef Kevin Vasselin, who cooks at the Geneva Hotel Beau-Rivage, took third place for Switzerland in the cooking competition.
At the Concours des Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs 2020 in Paris at the end of September, the Swiss representative Kevin Vasselin won bronze. Vasselin works in the restaurant Le Chat Botté-Hotels Beauivage in Geneva, which has one Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau R points.
Because the Corona cooking competition had to take a break in 2020, because the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs association is holding two competitions at the same time this autumn at the Parisian cooking school Le Cordon Bleu.
With Irma Dütsch, Switzerland was represented in the jury for the first time
The Concours des Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs has been held repeatedly since 1977 and is open to young cooks who die 27. Participants must also first qualify in a national competition.
At the Concours, all participants receive an identical black box, from the contents of which they have to prepare a menu for four people, consisting of a starter, main course and dessert. The menus are then judged by judges from 29 nations. This year, for the first time, Switzerland was represented in the jury by Irma Dütsch.
Norway celebrates a double victory in Paris: Gold 2020 and Gold 2021 went to the Scandinavian country – to Emil Lundemo Bakken and Sindre Hjelmseth. Next year the Concours will take place in Mexico. (htr / stü)
