Sérgio Conceição guaranteed, in a press conference to preview the match on Friday, that he studied his opponent, from Serie E of the Portuguese Championship, in the same way he studies those from the I League or the Champions League and said that the team is ready.
“It’s the Cup party, a competition that the club and I value a lot, it’s the second most important internally and we have aspirations of going to the final and winning it. I think we’re going to have a game where the responsibility is all ours, against a team that hasn’t lost yet. We studied the opponent in the same way we do with the teams in our league and in the Champions League, we are going there to win the game”, stressed the ‘Dragons’ coach.
Even so, the coach of the ‘blue and white’ team did not rule out the difficulties they may encounter in the game and warned of the need for the white and blue team to be at the best level.
“The games are all dangerous, regardless of the level you’re going to play. The teams are well prepared and if we are not at our usual level, we could suffer with that”, he stresses.
For this game, Sérgio Conceição confirmed the absence of Mbemba, still recovering from injury, but said that Otávio “is improving”, not referring, however, if he could be an option. The coach also addressed other absences.
“Mbemba is out, Otávio is doing better. Taremi will also be outside for punishment. Then, the South Americans, Corona, Uribe and Luis Diaz… it’s impossible to be in the game, they only arrive on Saturday”, he said.
The coach also spoke of Corona and considers that the Mexican player is still below the level already characterized, due to lack of rest.
“About Corona’s moment, it’s not as exuberant as it used to be. It has to do with several factors. He arrived late, he had little vacation time, that’s why he hasn’t played as much. He has been taking the opportunity to rest to enter well after the games. I never looked at the players’ contracts, but at the daily income”, he guaranteed.
Asked about the weight that the following game, on Tuesday, against AC Milan, for the Champions League, may have to face the other games, Sérgio Conceição undervalued.
“I’ll confide something. I have a large block of Milan pictures for a few days now and I still haven’t picked it up. The technical team knows it’s true. The total focus is on Sintrense and then we will think about the Champions League game”, he concluded.
The meeting between FC Porto, from the I Liga, and Sintrense, from the Portuguese Championship, will take place on Friday, from 18:45, in Massamá.
