Plopsa Station Antwerp opens full-time from the autumn break… (Antwerp)
Plopsa Station Antwerp opens its doors daily from the autumn holidays. Indoor park Comics Station, which found a home in Antwerp Central Station in 2017, was taken over by Plopsa Group two years later.
The manager of the well-known group had a veil of 5 million euros to refresh the location. “On 23 and 24 October we are organizing a test weekend to get a taste of how we can work optimally in Antwerp”, says Chelsea Vanhullebusch of Plopsa Group. “To process that test data, we close for five days and then open full-time from October 30.”
In Plopsa Station Antwerp you will find both characters from Standaard Uitgeverij as the classic Studio 100 characters. “The spirit of De Smurfen, Suske & Wiske, Fanny Kiekeboe or Jommeke still blows our minds here. But the attractions are greater with Studio 100 friends such as K3, Maya van Wickie. Because there is also a small theater present, we plan shows around Bumba in due course.”
The 22.5 meter long indoor slide, the showpiece of Comics Station, was sold at the beginning of this year. Plopsa Group hopes to receive about 200,000 visitors a year in Plopsa Station Antwerp.
