SYSTEM D – A 20-year-old was arrested for vandalism in the middle of the night in Toulouse. The homeless just wanted to sleep in a cell
He could have tried to join a shelter but he chose a much more spectacular way of procuring a roof for the night. A 20-year-old was arrested by the police Wednesday around 5 a.m. on allées Jean-Jaurès, in the city center of Toulouse, after having smashed three storefronts with a large empty nitrous oxide cylinder, found, he explained, in a trash can.
The homeless man, neither hilarious nor drunk, did not take his legs around his neck when the police are hired. He just explained to them that he was vandalizing the windows to sleep “warm” in police custody. It was granted, then referred to the prosecution on Thursday for immediate comparison.
But the damage caused, still in the process of being estimated, could cost him much more than a night in a small hotel.
