The project, which operates under the ICE Coral license, is backed by an innovation team of leading Czech experts in 3D printing, concrete technology and automation. The ICE Coral printing farm is the largest in the country and is also one of the ten largest concrete printers in the world. The revolutionary technology is to help modernize the construction industry, replace craftsmen and make buildings cheaper and faster. ICE Coral promises a rough construction of the house in three days.
The founder, director and co-owner of ICE Industrial Services, to which Coral belongs, is Tomáš Vránek. According to him, construction is considered one of no modernized areas at all, technologies have hardly changed in the last 70 years. The sector is facing a long-term labor shortage and has minimal efficiency compared to industrial production. ICE wants to use rich experience from various fields of industrial automation.

Rough construction up to five times faster
3D printing technology allows you to create rough constructions up to five times faster. Precise application of concrete brings up to 70 percent material savings, compared to conventional formwork casting technology. “We want to be those who will make building and housing more accessible,” said Tomáš Vránek.
“The largest 3D concrete printer in the Czech Republic and one of the ten largest in the world. This is a new farm in Žďár nad Sázavou. The revolutionary technology is to help modernize the construction industry, replace craftsmen and make buildings cheaper and faster. ICE Coral wants to “print” a café and an entire alternative school within two years. The Žďár company ICE Industrial Services uses warehouse space in Brněnská Street for the printing farm. It focuses on industrial automation, but in recent months, instead of a stagnant automotive industry, it has been throwing forces into the construction industry, ”wrote iDnes.cz.

ICE Coral designers are working with the world’s leading concrete manufacturers to develop a unique printhead. It can mix 3D printing of concrete from classic concrete mixtures, anywhere in the world.
In Žďár, the first printed school building of a school in the northern hemisphere
Tomáš Vránek has two ambitious goals in the field for the coming years. “In the years 2022 – 2023, to implement a series of house constructions built in the form of 3D concrete printing all over the world. The first of them should be realized as early as the red of 2022. And in the summer of 2023, the first printed school building in the northern hemisphere was put into operation in Žďár nad Sázavou, ”he adds.
“A pro must have a sense for detail. Without it, one of our values - professionalism, remained only on paper “, the company writes about this effect on its Facebook
The development of 3D printing technologies combines thousands of years old fields with new high-tech technologies. In an effort to connect the top academic and business spheres, ICE Industrial Services initiated the establishment of the EIMAC – European Institute for Materials, Automation and Construction, based in Žďár nad Sázavou.
“EIMAC wants to bring together top experts focused on the development of new building materials, design of modern structures, architectural design and technology for robotic automated applications in the field of prefabrication and monolithic concrete structures. We can also involve talented high school and university students in this emerging technical discipline in the Czech Republic, “said Rudolf Hela, one of the founding members and professor of the Institute of Building Materials and Components Technology. Other partners will include, for example, ETH University in Zurich, CTU in Prague and companies such as Siemens, Mapei or Sika. Another of the three founders of EIMAC, architect Michal Postránecký, director of the City Center of the Future CIIRC CTU, adds that “our goal is to change some established paradigms in construction, cooperation of experts across disciplines, implementation of digital technologies and use of newly developed innovative tools and procedures. This should lead to more efficient constructions, offering new shapes and building elements. “ |
