Soon a meeting in the city of the Viminale Observatory on the bases.
A meeting of the Observatory of the Ministry of the Interior on reporters threatened in Venice. This is the commitment made at Ca ‘Corner on Wednesday 13 October by the prefect Vittorio Zappalorto who met the president of the Fnsi, Giuseppe Giulietti, with the regional secretary and the deputy vicar, Monica Andolfatto and Massimo Zennaro. The representatives of the journalists wanted to express to the prefect their concern over the hunt for reporters that had been going on for months, which also resulted in violent physical attacks.
“There is a creeping turbid climate in the country against the competences and intermediate bodies – said Giulietti, recalling the words of the President of the Republic – which brought an alarming figure confirmed by Minister Lamorgese, more than 55% of the information operators from ‘beginning of the year’.
The situation in Veneto shows some critical issues that should not be underestimated, the prefect was pointed out, with insults on the web, signs that incite against “terrorist” journalists in the no vax processions, confront the limit of physical confrontation with the television crews, with the goal of the right to press and the right of citizens to be informed.
The prefect shared the bases and did not recall how all the state apparatuses were alerted for the next day: “The parties against Article 21 of the Constitution – concluded Zappalorto – must be considered a day against the democratic order”.
The prefect then invited the trade union representatives of journalists to report threats against newspapers and journalists.
