Ukraine expects from the USA new samples of air defense and ABM – the Minister of Defense Taran News – current news about the spread in the world DW
Ukraine sees the United States as a way forward in providing new models to counter air defense (missile) and anti-missile defense (ABM). This was announced on Wednesday, October 13, by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran before the first visit of Pentagon Chairman Lloyd Austin to Ukraine.
According to Taran, such samples are in Ukraine’s service. He added that during Austin’s visit, which awaits next week, the parties are discussing the implementation of the agreements signed in Washington in August 2021.
“Because agreements on paper are one thing, and their implementation is another step, a step forward,” Taran said.
During the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington, the attackers of the armed forces of the state signed agreements on strategic principles of defense partnership on projects during research, disclosure, inspection and evaluation. The United States is helping Ukraine counter Russian aggression, reform a sector that meets NATO standards, deepen cooperation in the Black Sea region, in the framework of cybersecurity, and promote closer partnerships with defense intelligence agencies.
US military assistance
We can, every day, Ukraine receive from the United States part of the additional military-technical assistance with ammunition, high-efficiency restrictions, radar surveillance and medical devices with packages for 60 million US arrivals. In addition, this is exactly the dismissal – the Ministry of Defense refused to answer to DW.
Also in the near future, five more mobile hospitals, equipment for advanced surgical teams, Polish regents’ complexes and bags for combat medics will be delivered from Ukraine to Ukraine for a total of about 20 million hryvnias.
In addition, as part of the military assistance to Ukraine approved in August 2021 by US President Joe Biden, 60 million Americans will provide Ukraine, therefore, a new batch of controversial Javelin complexes.
Ukrainian air defense and missile defense
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that air and missile defense were key gaps in Ukraine’s security system. The solution to this will be to create its own missile defense system. However, according to experts, there is a lack of work and time for this.
At present, Ukraine is armed with Soviet anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs), Soviet Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters, which are in experience, and are not enough to fully defend against the attack of most Ukrainian-Russian opponents.
